Fellow Runner: Icin
Running is about competition. Although you are not an elite athlete who run to win the prize and awarded on podium – you basically compete with your own. Every race is new competition, you want to beat your injury, your new distance, your unhealthy being, your new distance run, your last personal record. You want to beat you.
Therefore, seeing someone who train hard to beat himself / herself is fascinating. And by the end of the race, you congratulate him/her for beating himself / herself.
Introducing fellow runner: Icin.
He just finished his first full marathon, not just in a regular full marathon event, but in one of the most prestigious race: TCS New York City Marathon 2015.
He used to run 10K, no long distance. Then he decided to run his first marathon by enrolled to NYC Marathon lottery. When he won the lottery, he then trained hard with the help coach Laras from #Gantarvelocity.
He changed his running form. He overcame his leg injury. He improved his strength & endurance. And then he run his first full marathon.

“Tadinya gue targetnya finish 4.30 jam supaya masuk koran New York times besoknya. Tapi setelah 30K, gue melambat karena capek banget. Sepanjang lari gue ingat-ingat petunjuk pelatih gue, supaya kaki diangkat, tangan diayun. Tapi di kilometer-kilometer terakhir, jalannya malah menanjak. Gue banyakan jalan
Masuk garis finish, rasanya lega banget. Dan menangis lagi, karena gembira. Akhirnya, gue finish juga full marathon pertama gue! Rasanya terbayar semua latihan gue selama ini.”
