Fellow Runner : Zakky
I first met him in Penang when I flied there for my Penang Bridge Half Marathon. I was standing in front of the immigration desk and saw him queued behind. I recognized him as a friend of another fellow runner, and I thought, “hm… pasti grup foto-foto itu deh….”.
We exchanged smile later outside, talked, and shared a ride to city. Later I found, he joined for his first Full Marathon, while I was for my half only – beda kasta. Then he finished his 1st FM around 6:30 hours.
Tiga bulan kemudian, he said goodbye and left to to Tokyo Marathon, and went home with 4:33 finishing time. Just in 3 months practice, he cut 2 hours, and amazed me.

“Sebenarnya gue juga bingung gimana bisa finish sub 5 di Tokyo Marathon kemarin. Setelah Penang kemarin, gue sadar sepanjang latihan kelemahan gue itu nafas, jadi yang drop duluan itu biasanya nafas. Akhirnya gue niat-niatin naikin conversational pace gue jadi 6:20an. Banyak-banyak speed work.
Waktu Penang gue gak disiplin latihannya – ke Tokyo gue jauh lebih disiplin.
Bukan cuma cuaca yang mendukung gue waktu di Tokyo Marathon tapi penontonnya, I must say, bener-bener encouraging banget, sepanjang jalan orang-orang berteriak-teriak ngasih semangat.“
